Role Overview
As an Airframe Configuration Management Engineer, you will be part of the Cabin Design and Integration Team, responsible for managing configuration changes in cabin customizations and airframe design upgrades. The position blends technical engineering knowledge with strong stakeholder coordination and change control management.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate change management activities including Modifications, Feasibility Studies, and Requests for Change.
- Ensure configuration and integration of customized aircraft cabins to align with customer requirements.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams such as Airframe, Systems, Cabin, Industrialization, Standardization, and R&T.
- Deliver digitization projects and adopt innovative work methods.
- Report all activities as per Airbus procedures and support catalogue contributions.
- Willing to travel internationally and operate in multicultural environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Automotive, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in:
- Cabin or Airframe Engineering
- Configuration Management
- In-service upgrades
- Added advantage if experienced in:
- Cabin Design, Structural or Systems Engineering
- Aircraft Customization Projects
- MOD process, TRS, CRs, DQNs
- Aircraft development cycles (PDRs, CDRs)
Technical Skills
- Airframe design (electrical/mechanical) or structural integration.
- Aircraft Cabin Layouts, Systems, and Monument familiarity.
- Configuration tools (DMU navigation, PDM/VPM tools).
- Understanding of design-in-context CAD modeling.
- Awareness of Airbus design, development, and archiving processes.
- Basic knowledge of aircraft build processes.
- Project management and performance tracking.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong customer-centric approach and problem-solving mindset.
- Agility and autonomy in fast-paced, transnational environments.
- Proven team collaboration skills.
- Capability to lead diverse teams through constant change.
- Subcontracting or extended team management is a plus.
